This day recognises the importance of pride for autistic people, and its role brings positive changes in the broader society. But June 18, specifically marks Autistic Pride Day. This year is the 51st anniversary of the LGBT Pride events and traditions. The Gay Pride Month is celebrated to honour the Stonewall Inn riots of 1969 in the Greenwich Village neighbourhood of Manhattan, New York City.
